Labadie Power Plant, Missouri
The Labadie Power Plant (also known as Labadie Energy Center), is located outside Labadie, Missouri, west of St. Louis, adjacent to the Missouri River, from which it draws its cooling water. The plant is home to four coal-fired units whose net output capacity is 2,390MW, making it the largest coal-fired power plant in the state. Units 1 and 2 have net output capacities of 574MW apiece, while Units 3 and 4 have net output capacities of 621MW apiece. Units 1, 2, 3, and 4 became operational in 1970, 1971, 1972, and 1973 respectively. The plant is owned and operated by the Ameren Corporation.
