Lake Perris, California

Lake Perris is a reservoir that marks the end of the State Water Project, one of three major aqueduct systems in the state. Water is drawn out of the Sacramento River in Northern California and begins its journey through the largest aqueduct system in the world, finally ending up in 2,320 acre Lake Perris, east of Los Angeles. There are many canals, reservoirs and pumping stations in the State Water Project, which distributes water throughout central and southern California. The 444-mile long California Aqueduct travels down the western edge of the San Joaquin Valley, and is the primary artery in the State Water Project system. The water from Lake Perris is used commercially and in residences as far south as the Mexican Border.
