Laramie River Power Plant, Wyoming
Laramie River Power Plant is located east of Wheatland, Wyoming. The plant is home to three coal-fired units, whose combined nameplate output capacity is 1,710MW. Each unit has an output capacity of around 570MW, becoming operational in 1980, 1981, and 1982 respectively. The plant provides electricity to two different distribution systems. Unit 1 is connected to the Eastern Interconnection, while Units 2 and 3 are connected to the Western Interconnection. Water for the plant is supplied by the Laramie River. The plant is owned and operated by Basin Electric Power Cooperative.
