Lincoln Heights Jail, California

A former prison, owned by the City of Los Angeles, and a frequent prison filming location. Filming in active prisons is generally not permitted for obvious reasons, and as a result, prison sets are built on soundstages, back lots, and inside other locations. A few old prisons in Los Angeles are currently closed, and are regular filming locations. This one, owned by the City, is possibly the most popular. There are some tenants in the north end of the building, including an old-school boxing gym on the top floor, as well as the Bilingual Foundation of the Arts.
