Longview Port, Washington

Longview's port on the Washington side of the Columbia River is an industrial corridor of some magnitude, next to a town of under 40,000 residents. The port, Washington's third largest by operating revenue, handles industrial dry bulk commodities, such as fertilizer chemicals, soda ash, alumina, and a lot of calcined coke (from Arco's Cherry Point refinery), which is shipped around the world from Longview, as well as steel, aluminum, lumber, pulp, and paper. On shore at the port are two large wood products plants, a chemical plant, and a hazardous materials dump.
