Mackinac Bridge, Michigan

The Mackinac Bridge is one of the largest bridges in the country, and connects Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with the rest of Michigan. It spans the Straights of Mackinac, between Lake Michigan and Lake Huron, and is the longest suspension bridge between anchorages in the USA. Opened in 1957, it is five miles long, and carries the traffic of Interstate 75. Five people died during its construction, and so far only two cars have managed to fall of it.
