March Air Reserve Base, California
March Air Force Base, south of Riverside, in the Inland Empire east of Los Angeles, serves the Air Force as a refuleing base. Tanker aircraft such as the KC-135 Stratotanker are based here as part of the 452nd Air Mobility Wing. It was changed to an Air Reserve Base in an April 1996 realignment. Its housing area, along with much of the base on the west side of Interstate 215, has mostly been redeveloped, with exception of the former munition storage area. The Clark Training Center, a law enforcement and public safety training facility, has taken over part of the former base as well.
