This is the big NASCAR track for Michigan, the state that created the world of cars we live in. It is a two mile loop, 70 miles west of Detroit, that opened in 1968, and has seating for more than 50,000 people. It is owned by the International Speedway Corporation, which owns many of the major auto racing tracks in the country, including Talladega, Alabama; Watkins Glen, New York; and Daytona, Florida. In 2019, the company was purchased by NASCAR itself, for $2billion. There are around two dozen NASCAR tracks in the country.
