Mono Basin Visitor Center, California

The Mono Basin Visitor Center opened in 1992. Though it overlooks the treeless landscape of Mono Lake, it is operated by the National Forest Service. The center boasts interactive displays, two galleries, and regular screenings of a film entitled Of Ice and Fire: A Portrait of the Mono Basin.
