Orbital ATK Flight Systems Group Chandler, Arizona

Orbital ATK's Flight Systems Group has a major facility here in Chandler, a high-tech suburb of Phoenix, near an Intel Plant. Orbital, based in Dulles, Virginia, has built hundreds of satellite launch vehicles, and more than 150 satellites. Orbital launches some satellite payloads using missiles launched from aircraft, including the company's customized L-1011 plane. It also uses rockets, and has conducted launch operations from a number of U.S. launch sites, including White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico; Poker Flat Research Range, Alaska; and the NASA Wallops Flight Facility located on Wallops Island in Virginia.
