A large chemical plant that produces chlorine, caustic soda, and vinyl chloride monormer (VCM), among other chemicals, which are used in products such as PVC, detergent, chocolate, and fire extinguishers. OxyChem is the chemical division of Occidental Petroleum, and is a leading producer of these chlor-alkali products.
