Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, Arizona

Williams Field was a WW2 training base that continued to be a busy Air Force pilot training base until 1993, when it was closed. It has since transitioned into a civil aviation airport (initially called Williams Gateway Airport until its rechristening as Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport in 2007), as well as having become an aviation research and technical center, hosting several flight simulation, pilot testing and training, as well as aircraft maintenance and repair companies.
