Pinecastle Impact Range, Florida
Image
This 6,000 acre bombing range in north central Florida is used primarily by the Navy, and is one of their few live fire ranges on the east coast. The range has a few circular targets, as well as a simulated airfield. Targets made from shipping containers, vehicles, and constructed target aircraft are arranged in the cleared areas, surrounded by pine scrub and National Forest land. Once known as the Ocala Bombing Range, the site has been in use since the 1940s.
