Point Beach Nuclear Power Plant, Wisconsin

Point Beach Nuclear Power Plant is located in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, along the western shore of Lake Michigan, the source of its cooling water. It is the only one of the three nuclear power plants still operating in the state. It is home to two pressurized water reactors. Both reactors have output capacities of 591MW. Unit 1's operating license was issued in 1970, while Unit 2's operating license was issued in 1973. The plant is operated by NextEra Energy Inc. An Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) is also to be found on-site, in which spent nuclear fuel rods and other radioactive waste is stored in above-ground dry casks.
