Port of Seattle, Washington

Seattle’s port is often ranked as the fourth busiest port in the United States. The port extends over 1,543 acres of waterfront land and neighboring properties, including over 500 acres of terminal facilities, 8,000 ft of moorage, a 40-acre grain facility, foreign trade zone, refrigerated cargo and storage capabilities, and 13 Super post panamax cranes, including six of the largest in North America. Seattle is the closest major U.S. port to Asia (a day closer by water to Asian markets than LA/Long Beach), and claims to have the lowest carbon footprint for cargo shipped by sea from Asia to major markets in the Midwest and East Coast. Two major U.S. railroads are within two miles of container terminals, and two major interstate highways are within minutes of all terminals, providing efficient truck and rail access to U.S. domestic markets.
