Rocky Mountain Labs, Montana

Rocky Mountain Labs is a federal biological lab, located in the small remote town of Hamilton, Montana. It is operated by the National Institute for Health’s National Institute of Allergy and Infections Diseases, and employs around 400 people, on a secure campus at the south end of town. It has one of the few Biosafety Level 4 labs in the USA, the highest level of safety for handling the most dangerous pathogens. It has conducted research with live versions of ebola and Covid 19.
