Ross Dam, Washington

Ross Lake is a reservoir, formed by damming the Skagit River with the Ross Dam. The dam was completed in 1949, and was made to provide electricity for Seattle, more than 100 miles away. It is one of three dams and two reservoirs in this system, built by Seattle Power and Light, inside North Cascades National Park. The northern tip of the lake extends into Canada for about a mile. A road travels down the east shore from the Canadian side of the park to campgrounds.
