Rush Island Power Plant, Missouri
Rush Island Power Plant is located in Festus, Missouri, adjacent to the Mississippi River, the source of its cooling water. The plant is home to two-coal fired units, whose combined gross output capacity is around 1,290MW. Units 1 and 2 have gross output capacities of around 645MW apiece, becoming operational in 1976 and 1977 respectively. Wyoming's Powder River Basin is the source of the plant's coal. The plant is owned and operated by the Ameren Corporation.
