Saco Machine Gun Plant, Maine

Known for years as the Maremont Machine Gun Company, this plant has had as many as 1,200 employees, and was said to be the largest defense contractor in Maine, after Bath Iron Works. The plant has since been acquired by the Ordnance and Tactical Division of the General Dynamics Corporation, which also owns Bath Iron Works.
