Sturm, Ruger Newport Plant, New Hampshire

Sturm, Ruger is one of the leading firearms manufacturers in the USA, sometimes ranked as the largest, especially for handguns, along with Smith& Wesson, and the rifle maker Remington. The company is based in Southport, Connecticut, and has three other manufacturing locations, in Prescott, Arizona; Mayodan, North Carolina; and here, in Newport, New Hampshire. The Newport manufacturing site has three buildings, on both sides of the Sugar River, and includes the Pine Tree Castings building, a specialty metals machining and casting company, which is owned by Sturm, Ruger. There is also a distribution warehouse nearby. Sturm, Ruger has manufactured more than 25 million firearms since 1949.
