Texas Petrochemicals Port Neches, Texas

Texas Petrochemicals bought this olefins plant from Huntsman Corporation for around $192 million in 2006, the second of two major plants owned by Texas Petrochemicals, a relatively small petrochemical company based in Houston (the first plant was a large synthetic rubber plant in Houston). The Port Neches facility produces up to 900 million pounds of butadiene per year. Much of the company's product is shipped in liquid form via pipeline to other company's plants, and to its coastal terminal in Lake Charles, Louisiana. In addition, the company has a propylene plant in Baytown.
