Thomas Hill Power Plant, Missouri

Thomas Hill Power Plant is located in Clifton Hill, Missouri, adjacent to 4,950-acre Thomas Hill Reservoir, an artificial lake created in order to supply the plant with its cooling water. The plant is home to three coal-fired units, whose nameplate output capacity is 1,135MW. Unit 1 has an output capacity of 180MW, becoming operational in 1966; Unit 2 has an output capacity of 285MW, becoming operational in 1969; while Unit 3 has an output capacity of 670MW, becoming operational in 1982. The plant is owned and operated by Associated Electric Cooperative, Inc. (AECI).
