Thomasville FEMA Center, Georgia

The Federal Emergency Management Agency built this site in the 1960s, with an underground bunker and communications complex. Located in southern Georgia, it is one of ten regional FEMA emergency operations headquarters across the USA, and one of five that have a Mobile Emergency Response Detachment, which include truck-mounted emergency communications and electrical generating equipment. This facility serves FEMA’s Region 4, which includes Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee, and the Carolinas.
