Verizon Headquarters, New York
140 West Street is the headquarters for Verizon, currently the nation's leading telephone company (with AT&T). The Art Deco building, located next to the World Trade Center site, has been an important communications location since being commissioned by the New York Telephone Company in 1927. Though mostly an office building, there are several levels of telephone gear in the 32-story building, including on four levels in the basement.
