West Liberty Foods Original Turkey Plant, Iowa

West Liberty Foods has three turkey plants in the USA, including its first one in West Liberty, Iowa, and a new one in Tremonton Utah, to serve markets in the West. Turkey is a distant fourth in the meat world, with around 16 pounds per person per year consumption. Its still a significant industry, producing $5 billion annually, at the farm level, and 6 billion pounds of meat, from 250 million birds. Most production is in Minnesota, North Carolina, and Arkansas.
