Wolf Creek Nuclear Power Plant, located in Burlington, Kansas, is adjacent to Coffey County Lake, the source of its cooling water. It was home to one pressurized water reactor, with an output capacity of around 1,200MW. Unit 1's operating license was issued in 1985, and it was operated by Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation, on behalf of owners Westar Energy, Kansas City Power and Light Company, and Kansas Electric Power Cooperative, Inc.
