Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio

A major Air Force R&D center, which includes the headquarters for Wright Lab, the Air Force's largest laboratory complex, which develops electronics and materials for defense applications. Approximately 2,500 military and civilian employees work in Wright Laboratory, which has an annual budget of around $1 billion. In-house research and development is conducted in over 170 facilities located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Eglin Air Force Base, and Tyndall Air Force Base. These facilities include the Kinetic Kill Vehicle Hardware-in-the-loop Simulation (KHILS) Facility, Subsonic Aerodynamic Research Laboratory, Structures Test Facility, Compact Radar Cross Section (RCS) Range, Optical Radar Research Facility, and Aeroballistic Research Facility (ARF).
