Yuma Training Range Complex, Arizona
This is a Marine Corps range at the western end of the Barry M. Goldwater Range, a two million-acre bombing range which is otherwise run by the Air Force. This Marine Corps portion is used primarily by the nearby Marine Corps Air Station at Yuma, Arizona, a busy aviation training center. Target and training facilities include the Moving Sands Airspace, with an urban target complex; the Cannon Air Defense Complex; a Town Square training area inside a former bull’s eye target known as Yodaville; and the Cactus West area, with additional bull’s eye targets, up to 3,000 feet across, which are scored remotely by WISS (the weapons impact scoring system), and lighted for night time training. There are also facilities here that have been erased from Google Earth.
