Zortman-Landusky Mine, Montana

The Zortman and adjacent Landusky mines were cyanide heap-leaching gold mines, operated for years by the Pegasus Gold Corporation. They were both closed by 1998, when the company went bankrupt. Water treatment facilities continue to operate.
