Mike Osborne, a photographer from Austin, Texas, made the first of several trips to Wendover in May 2011. A series of photo-stories from his residency, ranging from narratives tracing Wendover’s military past to illustrating the area’s current casino scene, are compiled in his photo book Floating Island, and were displayed in a 2012 exhibition at Artpace in San Antonio.
