In 1929 a road bridge was built at Crown Point, replacing the ferry. Spanning the state line, the road bridge established an overland connection between the Green Mountains of Vermont and the Adirondacks of New York. In 2009 that bridge was deemed unsafe and was intentionally demolished with explosives. A new bridge, built in its place, opened two years later.
