The Emporium Forestry Company operated one of the largest lumber mills in the Adirondacks at what is now the town of Cranberry Lake. It opened in 1917, and included a railyard terminus for the company’s extensive logging railroad network. The mill and railway closed ten years later, and few traces remain.
