The three-unit stucco structure on this corner lot has an identical structure next to it. They are a common form of a combination one-story apartment attached to a two-story, two-unit structure, all with hipped roofs and a detached garage in the back. These were built around 1950, and both remain today, for the most part, as they were when this one, at 12550 Venice, was photographed in 1965. There was a third identical structure at 12710 Venice, a block further west, which was torn down in 1970, to make way for a 30-unit apartment building.
