This craftsman-style house was built in 1907, on a wedge-shaped lot formed by the railroad tracks splitting from the Venice Short Line, which connected downtown LA to the Pacific coast, to the Inglewood Line, running to Santa Monica along what is now Electric Avenue. The Tokio Station for the Venice Short Line was located nearby, at the railway split. Across the street from this house is the original City Hall for Venice, before the city voted to join Los Angeles in 1926. The city hall building is now Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center. This small craftsman home is now the Little House Gallery, an arts project space and residence program (though it is also listed as a two bedroom home, renting for $6,250 a month). The house retains most of its original form, inside and out.
