Quogue Field Club is likely the oldest course still operating in the Hamptons, opening in 1887. The course originally had 18 holes, but three were lost due to erosion during a hurricane in 1938. Since 15 holes is not a proper amount for standard golf play, the club downsized the course to nine holes.
