A small dry lake, around a square mile in size, inside Fort Irwin, a few miles southeast of the main base. Langford has roads and tracks over it, and some remnants of training structures, such as bunkers and landing areas, around its edges. It was used recently by NASA to develop and test space suits and rovers for a possible Mars mission.
