Lucerne is a dry lake east of Victorville which has agricultural and residential development on its southeastern edge, and a paved highway (247) running though its middle. It is in the heart of a major OHV recreation region, though its surface is off limits to dirt bikes, as per order by the BLM. Several amateur rocket clubs hold meets on the lakebed, and are allowed to drive down range to collect their rockets.
