Mud Lake is a relatively large, round, and distinct dry lakebed near Goldfield, Nevada, just outside of the area classically defined as the Mojave Desert (based on certain types of vegetation). Mud Lake is at the northwest corner of the Nellis Air Force Range, the largest military groundspace in the nation. The fence marking the western edge and the fence marking the northern edge meet at a right angle on the lake surface.
