Rabbit is one of the closest dry lakes to Los Angeles, and has been used as a film location, including for scenes in the John Ford/John Wayne classic western movie Stagecoach. It is between Lucerne and Apple Valley, and has an old airstrip on one edge, lots of circular tracks from ATVs doing donuts. It is also crossed by a paved highway, high tension lines, and a buried pipeline.
