Silurian Lake is next to Highway 127, north of Baker, and south of Tecopah. Though it has some tracks on it, it is generally less impacted than many dry lakes in the Mojave. It is also the location where the British architectural historian Rayner Banham was photographed riding a Bickerton folding bicycle, an image that became the cover of his influential book, Scenes in America Deserta.
