Troy Lake

Troy is a lake with a less distinct playa, a few miles east of Newberry Springs, in a region with dozens of artificial lakes, due to available, but shrinking, groundwater reserves along the Mojave River. The southern end of the lake is abutted by Interstate 40, and a railway roadbed. The famous Bagdad Café is nearby, and the remarkable modernist volcano house, atop a cinder cone, is next to the lakebed.
