With “seed to sale” as its motto, the vertically integrated Bonipak grows, harvests, cools, processes and ships more than 15 million cartons of anise, bok choy, napa, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cilantro, green cabbage, green leaf, iceberg lettuce, red leaf, romaine, romaine hearts, and spinach to retail, wholesale, and food service customers including Campbell’s Soup, Kraft, Pizza Hut, and Burger King, with 70 percent headed for the East Coast market. As with other leafy green and lettuce packers, Bonipak’s includes vacuum tube pressure coolers to bring the field heat out of harvested produce within minutes, giant ice-makers for contact icing, and cold storage rooms and refrigerated loading docks kept cold by penthouse chillers.
