Tropicana is the largest orange juice brand in the U.S., with twenty-eight percent of the market, and greater New York area is the largest U.S. market for orange juice. Tropicana’s Greenville distribution center is the destination for more than half of the company’s Bradenton, Florida plant’s output, supplying OJ to the Northeast and all of Canada. A “Juice Train” arrives in Jersey City less than forty-eight hours after leaving Bradenton, and twenty-five percent of each shipment is loaded straight onto refrigerated trailers. The rest is stacked in a refrigerated warehouse, where it will spend no more than thirty-six hours before being shipped out to supermarket distribution centers and Tropicana’s own direct-to-store depots.
