JBS, the third largest beef company, has a major packing plant in Dumas, Texas. Just four companies produce 80% of the beef in the USA: Tyson, Cargill, JBS, and National Beef. JBS is based in Greely, Colorado, and is owned by a Brazilian conglomerate. JBS grew considerably by purchasing the Swift Company, one of the original large American beef packers.
