Sun World Coachella Packing Plant

2958 CLUI photo.

Sun World operates five packing houses, farms more than 10,000 acres in the San Joaquin Valley, and partners with 950 domestic and international partner growers in order to grow, process, and market tablegrapes, sweet peppers, stone fruits, clementines, and more. Their Coachella facility includes two buildings, one for packing citrus and receiving table grapes, alongside cold storage and office space. The other is entirely dedicated to receiving, cooling, and storing table grapes. Grapes, which are harvested in California from June through the fall, with Chilean imports taking over from January through April, can be held in cold storage for up to five months, in order to be sold to store buyers and exporters as needed.
