This dome, southwest of Houston, is a former sulphur production plant with some of the old production facilities remaining. It is an active gas storage site, operated by Conoco Phillips, with long ponds for holding water. A billion cubic feet of hydrogen is also stored here in a 1,000 x 160-foot cavity, 2,800 feet below the surface.
