This building, with a two-story structure in the rear connected to a one story structure in the front, was built in 1953. When it was photographed for a real estate listing in 1960, it was fully residential, with four apartments, two in the front part and two in the back. It changed hands three times in the following three years, with the asking price rising from $32,500 in 1960 to $52,950 in 1964. Since then, the front apartment has been used as a commercial office, on and off. A business called B-Z Travel has been located here since at least 2007, and NERDY Investments since at least 2011, though its signage has been missing the “DY” since 2014. This building is technically in the Palms District of Los Angeles. Less than a block west, on the other side of Overland Avenue, the city line for Culver City reaches Venice Boulevard for the first and only time, running down its south side until Bledsoe Avenue, just west of the 405.
