Oak Ridge National Lab

2604 Google Earth image.Oak Ridge Lab is another of the five major DOE nuclear development centers, and there are a few disposal cells on site, though much of the radioactive material here has be shipped to Utah, Savannah River, and other DOE disposal sites. Facilities constructed here included the largest building in the world, at the time, used to create a "mere" 100 pounds of Uranium 235 for the first few atomic bombs. Oak Ridge, in Tennessee, has 35,000 acres and 1,200 buildings.
