The S-3 and S-354 lock and floodgate structure on the Herbert Hoover Dike is the origin of the Miami Canal. This non-navigable canal is the longest canal radiating out from Lake Okeechobee. It runs for 75 miles and joins the Miami River in downtown Miami.
