Cynthia Hooper, Erling Sjovold, and Jerry Smith were residents in Wendover in 2000. The three of them are painters in the Plein Air style - using easels to paint what they see outdoors, in situ. While in Wendover, they produced numerous paintings, on board and canvas, that depict the local landscape around the airbase. Some of the work was shown in the exhibit Disruptive Topographies: The Utah Paintings of Hooper, Sjovold, and Smith, at Humboldt State University, in 2001.
